Michael Braungart winner of the Urban Mining Award 2015During the 6th Urban Mining Congress in Dortmund on the 4th of November, Michael Braungart received the Urban Mining Award 2015. The Urban Mining Award recognizes outstanding contributions and achievements towards the promotion and implementation of a consistent circular economy. Against the backdrop of the increasing scarcity of raw materials, the urban mining foundation takes the best possible recovery approach of used materials into account. Valuable resources are stored in and under our cities. Since the world's raw materials are becoming dramatically scarce and expensive, urban mining becomes more and more important. Therefore, our future needs scientists and entrepreneurs around the world, who develop innovative solutions for the recovery of metals, minerals and other valuable substances. |
